Court orders arrest of Annabelle Rama!

Annabelle RamaA local court judge on Monday ordered the arrest of talent manager Annabelle Rama in connection with the libel case lodged against her by actress Nadia Montenegro.

Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 92 Judge Eleuterio Bersan issued the warrant of arrest for Rama for her failure to attend the court hearings involving the 14 counts of libel that Montenegro filed.

Bersan recommended a bail of P10,000 for each count of libel, or a total of P140,000.

Montenegro had charged Rama with libel and unjust vexation over the latter's alleged defamatory statements about her through microblogging site Twitter.

She said Rama called her "piggy" on Twitter several times, and alleged that she had an affair with another man and is unable to pay her bills, among others.

Rama, for her part, said she only had one post addressed to Montenegro on her Twitter account. She said this was about the former actress' debt to her.

The Quezon City Prosecutor's Office earlier upheld Montenegro's libel case against Rama.

However, the prosecutor's office junked the child abuse case filed by Montenegro’s children against the talent manager, saying there was no sufficient evidence found.

Due to lack of probable cause, the prosecutor’s office also dismissed the attempted kidnapping rap filed by Rama against Montenegro following the recent incident when the actress brought policemen to the talent manager’s office in Quezon City.

Furthermore, the fiscal junked the attempted physical injuries case filed against Rama.
