Kate Hudson, Joaquin Phoenix to quit Hollywood?

Kate Hudson

In her dreams, the beautiful daughter of Goldie Hawn sees herself away from Hollywood, selling her own handmade beauty products. She longs for a quieter life with husband Chris Robinson and their baby son Ryder.

She confessed: “Every day I tell my husband, 'Maybe we should cash in.
I'll make handmade lotions and you can write music and sell it on the Internet'.”

But, when not dreaming, Kate is suing magazines in order to defend her image. She has recently filed legal action against five publications for displaying 'skinny' pictures of her and making comments that suggest she is suffering from an eating disorder.

Her lawyers had declared that the articles in question, along with the pictures, could be “of commercial and artistic concern to those who might cast her in movies and choose to use her image to endorse products”, and, therefore are a potential threat for Kate's career.

So, plans to quit Hollywood are indefinitely postponed...

Kate Hudson's latest projects include comedy “You, Me and Dupree”, currently filming, starring names such as Michael Douglas and Matt Dillon, and “Sleight of Mind” drama, to start shooting early next year.

Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix is said to have been thinking of saying Hollywood good-bye.
The WALK THE LINE star is rumored to have decided to quit acting, due to the life-style that has tired him off.

The famous actor, who needs some time to find a girlfriend, has recently received very good critics for his latest performance.
Some even say that the Johnny Cash biopic, which follows the singer from childhood and the death of his older brother to his days in the Air Force and his subsequent career, might bring him an Oscar.

"Getting into a character is very difficult for me because I step away from everything
that makes me comfortable. (…) I show up with nothing in a strange hotel room in a strange city. I don't know anybody. I'd like a relationship - I've grown very tired of acting, the whole process, having to walk away from my life. It takes a lot out of and I'm growing tired”, the actor said.

According to America's MSNBC.com website, Phoenix also talked about the rehabilitation program: "It's the best thing I ever did for myself. Cash was addicted to pills, for me it was all about drinking".

Joaquin Phoenix, who is rumored to have suffered a nervous breakdown after shooting the movie, did not make a good impression at first on his co-star Reese Witherspoon either. The actress has recently revealed that she hated Phoenix while shooting for "Walk The Line", because he didn't like the way she sang.

Witherspoon, who portrays June Carter, the partner of country singer Johnny Cash, took singing lesson with the actor.

"It took us about three months to trust each other because we didn't know each other at all in the beginning and we couldn't even look at each other when we had to sing to each other because it was so embarrassing", the actress recalled.

"I'd sing too loud and he'd say, 'It's driving me crazy, she's singing too loud. Does she have to sing so loud?' I said, 'I'm just trying here!' It took about three months before we responded to each other's work and saw improvement. It took a long time before we really felt comfortable with each other. (…) There were days we felt bad. He would say, 'You're doing really good today ', or on days he felt like crap, I said, 'Don't beat yourself up, you're doing a really good job'. We really leaned on each other and became close in that way", Reese added.
