MMFF Best Actress Winners from 1975 to 2011

Find out who was the most awarded recipient of the MMFF Best Actress Award with 7 wins…

She’s none other than Superstar Nora Aunor. Ate Guy grabbed the MMFF Best Actress trophy in 1978 for Atsay (Best Performer), 1979 for Ina Ka ng Anak Mo, 1982 for Himala, 1984 for Bulaklak ng City Jail, 1990 for Andrea Paano Ba ang maging Isang Ina?, 1991 for Ang Totoong Buhay ni Pacita M., and in 1995 for Muling Umawit ang Puso.

Nora Aunor was supposed to receive a special recognition from MMFF during the 37th awards night on Wednesday but because of miscommunication, the committee canceled the award (the MMFF commitee thought Nora Aunor will not be able to attend but the camp of the Superstar said otherwise).

Meanwhile, Maricel Soriano is now second to Nora Aunor with regards to MMFF Best Actress wins for bagging 4 trophies–1997, 2003, 2007 and now in 2011 for “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”
