AS I WITNESS THE END OF MARCH AND THE BEGINING OF APRIL

My blue colored bicycle is barely hanging together. The peddles are almost about to fall off. The rear tire feels soft, but still operational. Still, peddling a bike is faster than walking. I don't wear out my shoes so quickly when I'm traveling by bicycle. Yes, I wish I owned an automobile. However, ever since I crashed my car alongside Riverside Drive in 1995, I've been slowly and gradually trying to regain my confidence to operate an automobile again. Plus, I can't afford to purchase or maintain an automobile yet. I'll worry about that later on a future date.

THE ADVENTURES OF STEVEN POST HITCHCOCK IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

Nothing much happened to me in March 2010. I'm working minimum wage at Mr. Hero Restaurant. I don't own an automobile so I'm peddling my bike from place to place instead. I'm temporary living with my Biologic Mom and Step-Dad Dave and my brother Mitchel until my college tuition debts to Ohio State University and Franklin University is paid off. I'll get my apartment up and running again when I'm debt free. April 2010 will be the start of my second year of residence in Cleveland, Ohio. I don't regret relocating to Cleveland, Ohio. Relocation was the best thing that happened to me. It feels good to live in a city that's host to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.

SNOWSTORMS IN THE SPRINGTIME

There's not much snow left on the ground---Most of it has melted. However, there still is tiny patches of snow here and there. The ice that covered most of the streets, most of the parking lots and all of the sidewalks has melted off. It's still cold outside. It really doesn't feel like spring weather at all. However, it's good to be employed. It's good to earn a steady paycheck while there's a recession going on. Being employed is the most important thing. I'm employed by Mr. Hero Restaurant. The best part about being employed is that I can finally start paying off my college tuition debts to both Ohio State University and Franklin University. It's going to be wonderful when I finally pay off my college tuition debts.

ANOTHER DAY IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

I'm still trying to get used to logging into Blogger using the google system. It's not taking me nearly as long as it took the last time. Anyway, spring officially returned and so has the snow. There is a slight blanket of snow on the ground. There was nothing in the weather report to warn me of such a thing. It came by surprise when I was wearking a thin raincoat and a sweatshirt---Not nearly enough for winter. Plus, it was raining before the snow arrived. So I was both soaked and freezing. Thankfully, that was in the past. I'm ready for winter because I'm armed with my winter coat, scarf and winter gloves. I'm not going to be taken by surprise a second time. Anyway, it's a good day. I would've made a snowperson today, but there still isn't enough snow for that yet. Maybe a few more inches of snow and I could really have fun with winter's return.

According to PEP.ph, Ramsay told The Buzz, “I will not deny it. I know that the picture was taken in Boracay with a group of friends just having fun [two or three years ago].” Ramsay doesn’t believe that one of their friends sold the photo.

He added, “The only thing that I worry about that picture is Angel, of course; she’s a girl. Angel and I are very happy. [We’re only human.] Sometimes, especially with our job, we like to get out and we’re there to enjoy. When we took that picture, the least that I expected was for it to become a cover of a newspaper.”

Ramsay believes Pinoy Parazzi just did its job. “[It’s not hurting other people.] You just have to look at it in a funny way.”

Pinoy Parazzi Editor-in-Chief Raimund Agapito told The Buzz that the photo had been offered to other publications but only Pinoy Parazzi bought it. He refused to name his source. “[I am] constitutionally guarded.”

However, lawyer J.T. Leonardo Santos said the couple could pursue legal steps against Pinoy Parazzi. “Although it is your right to publish whatever expression you have, whatever freedom of speech you have, you must exercise it in good faith. Obviously, you’re not in good faith if you know [that you will hurt someone if you publish that photo.]”

VIDEO: Arnel Pineda sings the Philippine National Anthem

The National Historical Institute said Sunday it was filing a complaint against Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda for changing the tone and tempo of the Philippine national anthem when he sang it before the Pacquiao-Clottey bout in Texas.

Pineda sang "Lupang Hinirang" (Beloved Land) during Pacquiao’s successful bout against Joshua Clottey of Ghana on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), his powerful, high-pitched voice filling the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

 

But Teddy Atienza, chief of the Heraldry Section of the NHI, was not pleased. A "24 Oras" report quoted him as saying that they would file a complaint against Pineda before the Department of Justice for his "wrong" version of the national anthem.

Under Section 37 of Republic Act 8491 or the Flag and Heraldic Code, the national anthem must be sung in accordance with the original musical arrangement of composer Julian Felipe, who gave it a marching tempo. Violators may be fined P5,000 to P20,000 or jailed for a year.

Pineda, for his part, defended his version, saying he had sung it with all his heart. He said he would ask his lawyer to deal with the complaint once it is filed.

Pacquiao wins via unanimous decision over Joshua Cottley!

 

MANILA, Philippines - The title clash between world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey, dubbed as “The Event,” ended with the pound-for-pound king's unanimous decision victory over his Ghanaian challenger.

Pacquiao retained his WBO welterweight title with the scores 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.




Pacquiao threw 3 jabs to start Round 1. Clottey, meantime was in turtle defense. Pacquiao tested the Ghanaian's body and circled away from Clottey's punches.

Pacquiao also landed a big left which made Clottey wobble a bit. Clottey threw a left but Pacquiao answered with a left and right. There was not much activity from Clottey in the first round. It was all Pacquiao.

The Filipino champ continued to test Clottey's defense in Round 2. Clottey tried to advance and attempted to trap Pacquiao to the ropes. The Filipino boxing icon wisely circled away. Clottey connected with a left to the body. Pacquiao threw a big 1-2-3 which wobbled Clottey.

Pacquiao opened Round 3 with spectacular body punches. His punches reverberated throughout the stadium. Clottey threw body punches, too.

Pacquiao threw a 1-2 to the head, then a 1-2 again to the abdomen. Clottey caught Pacquiao with a right.
The pound-for-pound king rested a bit then continued to press the Ghanaian fighter. He even threw a beautiful combination to the head and body and trapped Clottey to the corner. Clottey moved away then charged back. Clottey's hands were always up.

In Round 4, Clottey walked towards Pacquiao, still in turtle defense. The Filipino circled away and used the ring while stinging Clottey. Clottey is not punching. This frustrated Pacquiao, who walked away a bit. Referee Rafael Ramos motioned the fighters to engage again. Pacquiao threw a 1-2-3 then a 1-2. Clottey is moving just like Roach predicted, the Ghanaian is just waiting for Pacquiao to tire out.

The fighter from Ghana became aggressive in Round 5 but Pacquiao fought back. Clottey threw a 1-2 then launched a big jab. He, however, missed a right hook. Pacquiao effectively used his own right hook and exploded with lightning punches. Clottey retreated.

The “Pacman” continued to effectively use the ring as he circled away from Clottey in Round 6. He even stepped near the ropes, inviting Clottey to engage. Clottey threw some punches, then they move to the center. Pacquiao used the angles, looking for an opening in Clottey's defense. The Ghanaian accidentally hit Pacman after the bell but the Filipino merely tapped him back.

Clottey tried to attack his foe’s body in Round 7, trapping Pacquiao at the ropes, but the Filipino moves away. Pacquiao patiently chipped away Clottey's defense, inviting the Ghanaian to fight back. Clottey remained in his shell then suddenly charged with a 1-2. Clottey was frugal with his punches.

Clottey's hands were up again in Round 8. He threw a double right to the head. Pacquiao fires back with punches to the body and head. Clottey then landed a blow just below the belt. The referee warned him.
Pacquiao then landed a big right. An accidental clash of heads followed. As the round was about to end, Clottey landed a low blow again.

The Filipino boxing superstar scored combinations in Round 9, with a couple of hooks to the body and an upper and hook to the head. Clottey responded with 4 hook combinations. The fighters moved to the center then Pacman exploded with big body punches again. Three of them apparently jarred Clottey but the Ghanaian survived.

Pacquiao had a welt in his right eye in Round 10 while Clottey had a bloodied nose. The Filipino prized fighter suddenly landed a beautiful right hook to Clottey's jaw. Clottey fought back with a big right. It looked like Clottey was inviting Pacman to throw body punches so he can retaliate with hits to the head. Pacquiao, however, continued to attack the body, never giving Clottey a breather for that head punch.

Clottey approached his opponent in Round 11 but Pacquiao kept him away with head punches then sidestepped away. Clottey tried to match Pacquiao. Both fighters traded head punches. Clottey stepped into Pacquiao’s defenses and sneaked in 2 uppercuts. Pacquiao was slightly dazed, but fought back. He pressed the attack and chased Clottey to the ropes.

In the 12th and final round, Clottey chased Pacquiao and landed a good left hook. A clash of heads happened again. The fight continued with Clottey throwing body punches. Pacquiao stepped back a second, fired 3, then circled away. Clottey landed big left hooks. Clottey became active with his punches but Pacquiao dominated him.

The fight, scheduled for 12 rounds, was Pacquiao’s first title defense since his 12th-round technical knockout win over Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto last November.

Most boxing analysts predicted the fight to last until the later rounds, with Pacquiao getting the upper hand. However, they said it will be a hard fight for the Filipino champ.

ANOTHER WARM SPRING DAY IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

I woke up in the morning. I showered and groomed myself. After getting dressed, I fed and walked the pet dogs---Freckles (a female canine), Furby the Furball (a female canine) and Tippy (a male canine). Furby's cage needed fresh newspaper. All three pet dogs eats dry dog food. One orange juice container used as a dry dog food scoop for each dog. I ate breakfast while reading the morning paper. Breakfast cereal with sliced bannanas, orange juice and coffee. I never eat my breakfast cereal with milk. I prefer my dry cereal to remain dry. I'm odd that way. Anyway, I peddled from my house to the Medina County District Library. I'm surfing the internet before clocking in to work at Mr. Hero Restaurant. The good news is that the recession is slowly comming to an end. The unemployment in Cleveland, Ohio is lower than the unemployment rate in Columbus, Ohio.

Who the hell spends 90 million pesos of the people’s money on food and drinks?

Graft charges had been filed against Bautista at the Office of the Ombudsman regarding his questionable use and his inability to account for the P300 million Vice- Mayor’s annual budget which totals P2.7 Billion for a period of nine years.

Before Bautista came on air for the interview, QC mayoral candidate Mike Defensor told ANC TV of the questionable expenditure by the Office of the Vice-Mayor using a big chunk of the office’s allocated budget for food and drinks that were declared as emergency purchases.

Defensor disclosed that the actor/ comedian spent almost P98 million on questionable purchase of food and softdrinks in 2009. Before that, the Vice-Mayor’s Office spent almost P83 million in 2008 and P33million in 2007 all on food and drinks.
“If we were to look closely, almost one-third of the Office of the Vice-Mayor’s budget was allocated for foods and drinks. You just don’t use that portion of the fund to buy softdrinks. You must prioritize your program for our constituents,” Defensor said.
Defensor stated that the fact that these transactions did not undergo the bidding process and a certification stating that there were no food and drinks sighted during the inspection made the acquisition more dubious and questionable.

Failing to answer the accusations against him directly, the former comedian instead dismissed the issue as black propaganda and political harassment.But according to Defensor, the complaints against Bautista are ‘statement of facts’ because these are supported with documents from the city hall itself.

“We have documents given by city hall officials and even councilors that will prove that the complaints against the Vice-Mayor are true. So these are not black propaganda. These are statement of facts,” explained Defensor. -Dona Victorina

THE CITIZENS OF CLEVELAND, OHIO REJOYCE IN THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING

The snow is finally starting to melt. It's predicted to rain for most of this week. Rain hasn't fallen yet because it's supposed to start this evening. I'm ready for anything. I mailed my Federal, State and Local Income Tax forms. I'm not going to pay anything because I only earned roughly $5,000.00 for the entire year 2009. I'm hoping to have better financial prospects for the year 2010. Oh yes, this is the best time to watch the film 2010. It's great fun to compare the film events of 2010 with the actual year 2010. I'm still waiting for a manned mission to Jupiter. Considering that NASA has had most of it's government funding taken away, it would be a mircle if we get to see another NASA spacecraft orbiting the Earth once a month like usual. Anyway, I'm heading for work at Mr. Hero Restaurant. It's time to earn my monthly paycheck. Minimum wage employment is still my exclusive source of income.

SO BEGINS THE SECOND YEAR OF MY RESIDENCE IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

Time flies very quickly. It's hard to believe that an entire year has already flown past. April 2010 will be the first year anniversery of my relocation to Cleveland, Ohio. It's hard to believe that I actually followed through with my plan to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio. It's hard to believe that my relocation to Cleveland, Ohio has been so successful. Relocating to Cleveland, Ohio offers me the opportunity to start over with a fresh clean slate. Brand new beginings is the theme for the years 2009 and 2010. I shall take advantage of my opportunity to start over with a fresh clean slate with enthusiasm.
