Final Count 74 killed, 600+ Injured
As I woke up this morning, i was greeted by this mishap.
Celebrating their first anniversary today is one of the most-watched show in ABS-CBN, Wowowee.
What could have been a fun celebration for the noon-time gameshow turned into a unexpected tragic situation. Some witnesses said chaos erupted when someone in the crowd shouted "bomb," but others said that people surged forward when guards began giving out tickets at around dawn at past 6 o’clock in the morning.
Seventy-nine people were killed in a stampede at the stadium as they scrambled to get tickets for the event, police and witnesses said.
Most of the 79 women and three men who died were elderly, with many crushed against a closed steel gate at the bottom of a slope and others trampled underfoot.
So, is ABS-CBN to blame here? Is it another case of insufficient control personnel in the area? I find it quite similar to My Big Night Experience if that’s the case. I was hoping that they learned from their mistake in the past. I’m sure noone wanted this.
